Anibong Recovery and Rehabilitation Program (ARRP) and Yolanda Program

After the super typhoon Yolanda barreled through Central Visayas, global leader in power, energy, and gas technology Shell engaged in continuous relief and rehabilitation efforts for the victims. As part of Shell’s rehabilitation phase of the Yolanda assistance programme, fishing boats and solar lamps were turned over to Anibong depot communities.

The Program aims to encourage disaster relief and community resiliency and to promote the environmental fight against climate change through various activities.

Carbon Sink Program (CSP)

Carbon sinks are natural (oceans and forests) and artificial deposits (certain technologies and chemicals) that absorb and capture carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere and reduce its concentration in the air.

Pilipinas Shell’s Tabangao Refinery is compensating for its greenhouse gas emissions through the Carbon Sink Program (CSP). PSFI’s team ultimately decided to establish the CSP in Brgy. Kinabuhayan, Dolores, Quezon with the help of the National Power Corporation – Makiling Banahaw Watershed Area Team (NPC-MBWAT).

As part of the programme, PSFI manages the planting, maintenance, and protection of tree seedlings. More than a reforestation effort, PSFI’s CSP strives to achieve a holistic enrichment of the present vegetation in Quezon Province, as well as supplement the local community’s livelihood opportunities.

Tubattaha

The Tubattaha Program aims to monitor climate change and to develop a public constituency that supports adaptation. PSFI provides financial resources to enable the effective management of the part by supporting capability development among its managers. It has also supported IE initiatives in communities and in areas where illegal fishers in Tubbataha originates and fostering stewardship among the public. 24 youth have been trained and volunteered, while 45,500 individuals have been reached through its information drive.

Turismo At Negosyo Dulot ng Ingat Kalikasan (TANDIKAN)

TANDIKAN is a community-based enterprise development and biodiversity program that aims to support the Community-Based Sustainable Tourism (CBST) programs of local communities in Palawan. The program mobilizes community involvement and creates alternative income opportunities, all while protecting and conserving Palawan’s biodiversity and beautiful nature, including World Heritage sites.
